Giving you food for thought...
It’s January 2012....
Sadly I was not able to do the usual ‘bells and whistles’, Christmas Newsletter for December 2011 but hope to have a ‘New Year’s’ Newsletter out soon. Watch this space! ....
Also, I owe all my regular visitors an apology for the fact that updates have not appeared with the usual regularity. There have been a number of software issues (mostly arising from security concerns) that needed to be addressed and I am pleased to say that all such issues have now been resolved.

Quite a lot has happened since the last update... I had another wonderful holiday
in Scotland during which I enjoyed a cruise around the Kyles of Bute... I stayed
at the Loch Long Hotel for the first time and it exceeded expectations. A highlight
for me was a trip on the ‘Jacobite’ steam train -
Christmas followed a somewhat different pattern to previous years. I collected Karen a bit later than planned as I was still recovering from a nasty bout of bronchitis. Fortunately we managed to get all our visits and visiting fitted in to fewer days, but I admit that it was a rather hectic schedule. Christmas Day itself was spent at a cottage out in the sticks of rural Kent. At least it wasn’t a long journey to get there.
It was a relaxed, quiet day occupied mostly with Karen opening all her presents with great glee, whilst the Christmas turkey (which we took with us) was cooked.

Another bit of news is that I have taken on the role of Newsletter Editor for our
local senior citizens’ centre. The task is to produce a 12 page A5 size booklet every
quarter, with a round-
.
There seems to be a lot of ‘doom and gloom’ about at the moment but I thing that life is what you make of it and that you can still enjoy life when finances are tight. I am planning to give up the car this year as it will be so much more cost effective to use public transport.
As ever, here’s wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy 2012.
A Trip Through the Kyles of Bute.

If you missed them, my Christmas Newsletter archive is still available.... Right-
